AHA’s ACLS Course has been updated to reflect new science in the 2020 American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care. This course builds on the foundation of lifesaving BLS skills, emphasizing the importance of continuous, high-quality CPR.

The ACLS Course is designed for healthcare professionals who either direct or participate in managing cardiopulmonary arrest or other cardiovascular emergencies. This includes personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine, intensive care, and critical care units such as physicians, nurses, paramedics, and others who need an ACLS course completion card for job or other requirements.

The indirect class consists of online work, as described below.

The Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Precourse Self-Assessment evaluates a student’s knowledge before the course to evaluate proficiency and determine the need for additional review and practice. The ACLS Precourse Work involves a student reviewing course content through online videos before entering the classroom. The video lessons cover multiple medical subjects, including questions to engage the student.

Students will complete an online Pre-Assessment, which takes about 45 minutes at most. The online videos take about 3 hours to complete.

If you also need a BLS certification renewal, it's available as an Add-on during registration. 

You can only take a Renewal Class If:

  1. You have an American Heart Association Certification, and
  2. Your Certification has not Yet Expired for more than 90 Days.
  3. If you have already been Expired for more than 90 Days, call us; maybe we can help (516-860-7381)

You are required to have the current textbook for this course. If you already own one or have access to one before, during, and after the session, you do not need to purchase one here. If you also need a BLS Original certification to add the Heartcode BLS it below. You complete the Heartcode BLS Online, then we do the skills testing at the end of class with us.  Options are available after choosing the Date and time.

 You can add a BLS Renewal option to any ACLS & PALS classes.
